Agrivilla Montelucci (from the Latin “Mons Luci”, sacred forest for the ancient Romans) is a wonderful stone farmhouse, built in 1700 and recently renovated.

The Villa is located within an 8-hectare estate in a beautiful setting of woods, vineyards and meadows just 7 km from the center of Gaiole in Chianti. Agrivilla Montelucci stands on a hilltop 700 meters above sea level, in a panoramic position over the Chianti Classico hills and the magical surrounding Tuscan countryside.

The property, a hamlet of the nearby Borgo di Montegrossi, was once the closest farm (overall extension of 46 hectares with vineyards, olive groves and pastures), where bread was prepared for the whole village in the ancient wood-fired oven located in the adjacent courtyard at the Villa.
The castle of Montegrossi, also known as Montegrossoli, was the sentinel and last bastion of the medieval feudal system established in Chianti. Built at about 700 meters above sea level on the crest of the last relief of the small mountain range that forms the border between the territories of Chianti and Valdarno Superiore, which has always been the subject of disputes between Florence and its enemies, it dominates the pass and the road that connects the two areas, as well as a large part of the valley on both sides.

The villa, measuring 500 square meters in total (of which 300 square meters are available to our guests) is structured on 2 floors and offers large internal spaces where you can spend your holidays and moments of relax.

Traditional materials such as terracotta floors, pietra serena, chestnut wood beams and terracotta ceilings give the entire internal environment that typical Tuscan flavour.

On the ground floor there are 2 double bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, separated by an entrance from the large living area with a large kitchen equipped with all electrical appliances and utensils. A large dining room dominates the living area, with entrance to the external garden through a patio, a porch attached to the house through which there is direct access to the front garden. On the first floor of the villa there are a further 5 double bedrooms with 4 bathrooms, and a large 44 square meter living room furnished in typical Tuscan style with an imposing ancient fireplace in the center of the room. From the windows of the living room there is a view of the garden surrounding the villa. All bathrooms are equipped with large windows and large showers. The rooms are all very spacious and also equipped with large windows.

The villa is equipped with air conditioning in all rooms and equipped with every comfort including mosquito nets in all windows, large screen Smart TV with satellite connection, Netflix, games for children and board games for rainy days, small and large electrical appliances, free high-speed WI-Fi connection inside and outside the villa (up to the pool area), free parking inside the property, external fence along the entire perimeter of the property.
Our guests have large outdoor spaces, all fenced around the property, to ensure the safety of adults, children and pets.
The panoramic hilltop position of the villa offers a view as far as the eye can see over the entire surrounding countryside, over the Valdarno valley from the back of the garden, and over all the hills and villages of Chianti until you can clearly see the city of Siena and Monte Amiata by the pool area.
The villa is surrounded by a private garden, equipped with shaded areas with 2 external gazebos and a barbecue area equipped with tables, chairs and sofas, and by the courtyard of approximately 2 hectares in total, where guests can spend their moments of relax and conviviality. Wide choice of outdoor activities to choose from, having fun with a game of table football, or a ping pong tournament, or a game of volleyball or five-a-side football.
Agrivilla Montelucci is surrounded by a beautiful forest and country paths where it is possible to take beautiful walks or follow trekking and cycling routes of varying difficulty.
At the foot of the property starts the CAI trekking route N. 1 Not far from the villa, you can go horse riding at the nearby riding school which is about 5 km away.

A few steps from the Villa’s patio, there is the swimming pool area. The absolute strong point of the swimming pool is the dominant and panoramic position of the land, from where the gaze is lost towards infinity.

The wonderful panoramic view from the swimming pool allows you to see in a short distance, on one side, the nearby Borgo di Montegrossi with the Montegrossoli Castle, on the other side the ancient Coltibuono Abbey (BADIA A COLTIBUONO) and a glimpse of the Valdarno valley. On the other side of the land surrounding the swimming pool, the gaze extends to see the city of Siena and Monte Amiata in the distance but clearly recognisable, up to the Crete Senesi.

Upon returning from a day of exploration and visits, guests can relax in the panoramic swimming pool, admiring the sunset in the evening which is tinged with shades from pink to red, towards the Chianti hills. In this context, the private swimming pool for the exclusive use of our guests offers moments of relax in absolute privacy and restful environment. The spaciousness of the spaces around the swimming pool gives a pleasant feeling of freedom, and is the ideal place both for practicing physical activity in the open air and for fun opportunities.

Last but not least, is the proximity and strategic and equidistant position (all about 1 hour by car or train from the Villa) from the art cities of SIENA, FLORENCE AND AREZZO, Tuscan artistic and cultural crossroads.

Gaiole in Chianti is a picturesque town in the heart of the Chianti Classico and is famous throughout the world for hosting every year (the first weekend of October) the characteristic vintage cycling event L’EROICA, with routes of several kilometers on dirt roads, which also reach the city of Siena and the Crete Senesi.

In Gaiole you can find all the main services of a small center such as shops, pharmacy, bank, supermarkets and various bars and restaurants.

FROM BRENNERO VIA MODENA

Take the A22 motorway south towards Modena and there take the connection with the A1 towards BOLOGNA, then FLORENCE, then south again and exit at VALDARNO

Take the SGC FI-PI-LI highway towards Florence. The highway will take you to the A1 motorway, entering Firenze Signa where you will continue passing all the exits including FIRENZE SUD, INCISA and exiting at VALDARNO.

Take the A1 motorway, heading south towards ROME and exit at VALDARNO.

FROM ROME AIRPORT

Take the Rome-Fiumicino motorway towards Rome and take the GRA – Grande Raccordo Anulare towards the North (Aurelia-FIRENZE) for approximately 26 km. and take the FLORENCE exit and continue straight until the Fiano Romano toll booth and take the A1 motorway (direction Florence) and exit at VALDARNO.

FROM MILAN MALPENSA

Take the A8 south motorway, towards MILAN. At the MILANO NORD exit, leave the A8 and take the Tangenziale Ovest (A50), heading south. Follow the signs for A1 and Bologna. Pass the Autostrada toll booth (you will need to get a ticket) and you are on the A1 heading south, towards Bologna – Florence. Pass the city of Bologna, always remaining on the A1, and proceed to Florence. Pass the last exit of Florence (FIRENZE SUD) and the next one (INCISA) and exit the motorway at VALDARNO.
